vehicle laws

Post by Wesley »

Okay, here is what I just wrote to a friend in FaceBookLand...

"I just spoke to both PennDOT and MDDOT and got two versions of the same answer. If I live in PA and buy a car in MD, I have to have the car towed to PA to get a proper title for it. No transfer tag, temp tag, nothing. I live here, bought a car there, can't drive it. I call febreeze. I mean, what if I go to a dealership down there and buy a car? Will they tow it the smurf up here to Mechanicsburg?"

Yeah, bought a car over thew weekend from someone in Maryland, got the title and everything, but legally can't drive it in either the state from which I purchased it nor the state in which I live.

They are forcing me to be a hooligan and just put my tags from the VW onto the new car so I can drive it up here, then get real plates for it.

You don't have one-day registration license plates? Here dealerships have these for such cases, but not for private sale I think.

Bummer though.
