I was not trying to be rude, I just thought, because of these questions, that you had no experience with forums.
I have never been on a forum where people asked to be a mod.
And assuming that buttons are there with no reason is IMHO stupid. Why waste space with something that has no function? Have you ever hoovered your mousepointer over these buttons? If you had you would have seen what their function is.

And BTW, who ever promissed you life would be about fairness lied.

Hmm... Good question

When a group of people have been together for a long time, sometimes they get used to each other's actions, and don't always realize how other people might take the post.

It's not that they're** trying to be rude, it's just that they're being how they normally would, and to an new person, the actions might seem foreign, or even rude.
** They, includes me as well.

So, if a post seems rude, it might be best to look at it again, and if it still seems rude, see if it contains anything essential to the topic, and if not, brush past it.

Although, if something seems excessively rude, it might be a good idea to bring it up. Not on the public board, but maybe quote the post in a message to them saying "Hey, Not sure if you meant for it to be, but I found this to be a little rude" Or something along those lines.

Best not to bring it up publicly, because, well, out of consideration for the other person, and other people. Not that it would be all to serious, but it'd probably be better overall to send them a private message about it, because like Zot said,

so we probably aren't sure of how to act in a way that you may be more comfortable with.
