My complain is about the new birthdays thing in the home page . fak'em all birthdays ppl , we might miss an important one someday
We (yes,WE) want the daily birthdays back .

We have to go through and delete each account individually. Sometimes we delete them all. Sometimes we leave them, and just delete the accounts that post spam. It just depends on our mood and how busy the admins are in real life.

It would be unfair to dedicate this task to someone specific and make him or her deal with all the work. As chex said, sometimes we have the time to delete all, sometimes not. No harm done. It's team work.

Yep. The accounts exist, but they aren't posting, so if we don't get to it, no harm done.

I'm going to work on deleting all the inactive accounts.

These are accounts where the member never verified their e-mail address... they are mostly spam, but either way we can't have inactive accounts that are months old. We'll give new members 1 month to verify their accounts before delete them.

I'm also going to work on deleting all members who have never posted, but this will be trickier as some have been around before e-mail activation was established. I'll look at these myself.

As for the birthday things, I think this is a new trend. A spam bot will register with his birthday on the same day to get attention in hopes people will click his name and visit his site... I don't think there is a solution to this.

Why did u do that?! u should be proud of them accounts even if they never posted, and who gives a shait about these spamers .
I was just talking about the new thing that shows all the birthdays of the members in the same month instead as it used 2b where we saw who has a birthday today ..

Delete accounts with usernames of 3 characters or less.

Yep, Ef, it's still only birthdays for that day. Unfortunately, a shazam!-ton of spammers have been signing up, and listing their birthday as that day to get more hits. The only way to get rid of that (if we can't stop them from signing up in the first place) is to have the admins delete the accounts one by one.
