Made pork chops on the stove for dinner

Didn't know what to season it with (last time I just used salt and pepper)

this time I ended up using Paprika, chili pepper, garlic powder, italian seasoning(because I had it so why not), as well as the salt and pepper, and they were about 100% better

Capellini with a sauce made from prosciutto cooked in butter, then de-glazed with white wine and made into a cream sauce. Also, garlic toast.

Holy food, my mouth -- and belly -- are in heaven!

Trying to make a spicy onion jam. I cut some vidalia onions in half and placed them in a muffin tin, then over half of them I put a large amount of a dry spice mix, over the other half I poured a sweet and spicy bbq sauce. Now cooking them like crazy on the grill.

Speaking of vidalia onions, I made a delicious topping for my burgers last night. I caramelized some vidalia onions, then added some mushrooms to the onions and sauteed them. I deglazed the pan with the honey wheat beer I was drinking, and cooked the entire thing a little longer. I used that and a slice of swiss cheese on top of my burger, then a thin slice of fresh pineapple (browned in the onion pan) under the burger. mmm... foodgasm...

Big pot, 5 potatoes, bunch of celery, one onion, One giant clove of garlic, one head of cauliflower, olive oil,
salt, pepper, Lawreys Seasoned Salt, water. Cook the hell out of it until it smells heavenly. Serve over hand cut, thick slice of bread.

I tried one of those olive oil based spreads for your toast. it was pretty good. Now the same company makes one from coconut oil. I thought it would be odd, spreading coconut on my toast. Well, it actually has a mild buttery flavor.
Not bad. A little pricey.

What is really good is pure olive oil (a good native one) with some sea salt sprinkled over baguette.

I have been experimenting with my espresso machine. I have been trying to run ground cocoa beans through it. You can't pack that stuff the way you do coffee... it has cocoa butter in it and will pack into a solid puck that steam can't get through... and you will scare your neighbors with all the noise of steam going through an emergency pressure valve. This morning i tried using a layer of regular coffee - not espresso ground, just regular grinds - on the bottom as sort of a filter, then some loose cocoa on top. It seemed to work fairly well. :)

Was invited to my parents' for dinner.

They had bourbon chicken.

Far from my favorite form of chicken -- but I'm not going to say no to food if it means I don't have to make it

I was gonna make burgers for dinner last night, but Corn Pop was very sad that I didn't have any of her favorite cheeses for it. So my friend who was over for the day took her to the grocery store and bought her all sorts of cheeses and burger toppings. We had gourmet cheeseburgers!

I made BLTs for dinner tonight. (with avocado slices and white cheddar cheese.) I whipped up some homemade avocado mayo for them, and made a homemade ketchup for our side of potato smiles. No big deal.

I miss cooking with you. :)

I pan-flipped a pair of perfect over medium eggs this morning. I like how something so simple as an egg can be so tasty when done just right.
