phpBB 3.0.14

Post by Moe »

Updated the forum from phpBB 3.0.5 to 3.0.14
On the user-end, nothing should really be different.
If something is different, or broke, let me know so I can look into it!

"view active topics" told me no data was available. "View unanswered posts" showed me the recent activity.

I'll keep playing.

Nice job, man! :)

What part of it doesn't work? Does it give you an error? What does it say?

Apparently there is a checkbox when you create each forum to enable the "Active Topics" option so that active topics appeared in there.
The old version had this too but apparently was showing them anyways even though that checkbox isn't enabled for any of them.. lol
I can fix that

*edit* Zot, your thing should be fixed

My mistake - Pro Silver works fine

Sub Silver gives following when viewing any topic, have a try
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '}' in /home4/clarence/public_html/forum/cache/tpl_subsilver2_viewtopic_body.html.php on line 317
Does anyone use SubsilveR? Cause if so they should be changed for functionality

Other than that specific theme issue everything is ifne

Good job bro!

Thinking we should deactivate the subsilver theme or change it to prosilver for the effected users as they won't be able to view or post in topics

I can't vouch for if the other random themes work

One problem when I first created this forum was I got way too excited about themes and made too many. If we decide to go full upgrade we should only have like 2 or 3 themes. At least a white on black and black on white as options.

You can tell what themes we all use?

Clarence, I loved that we had the choice in which theme we wanted. You say you got over-excited but it makes the forum easier to use.

If I look deep enough, yeah..

Its under the same heading that Clarence used way back when when he gave us all silly signatures.

If we did go update the forum to 3.2.0, we could do that again, though I think it's a lot smaller of a selection

You have no idea the powers we have

I agree users should have selections, I personally hate white text on black BG and that's how this website is designed by default. I use the white theme.

If we upgrade all the way we'll definitely have choices, but not so many, cause let's be honest ... too many on this current forum lol

To be fair Clarence. After messing with it.
We have like 5 that are just the various dark sun colors, then we have prosilver, subsilver, the wow one, then we have helion, which is literally only used by hell.

I would argue and consider all the dark sun ones as one with different color options, so overall. We have 5.
I guess that's a good number though.

On the updated one, I'd probably try to keep it to a total of 3 maybe 4, depending on if we include the default prosilver

I would like a dark with white test and for personal use need a white background with black text

My eyes hurt otherwise

Also it would be fun to keep hell hell themed

Was fun when users thought they were trapped in hell

I use the WoW one because it's easier to read than the black on white and white on black, and I can't use prosilver. Glad you're considering adding more than the two on 3.2.0 if you decide to switch.

So I'm an eejit and just realised that when I said Prosilver I was mixing it up with the new Carbon background. I like Hexagon and Black and although it only seems to be me who won't use the black on white or white on black it does have colour options which would mean something a bit softer could be possible. Those two are generally just nice backgrounds though. I love the turtle one too but I wouldn't want to use it :P .

Personally I really don't like the 'hell' background. It's very hard to read for me and I mostly just skip it, without reading.

That's the whole point, the terrible posts go there so it goes into a place with a terrible background :P
