Serious question here: have you ever spilled food on it or in it? The way the laptop is put together with the removable keyboard right over the RAM and the processor... a little dried salt and fat can act like a semiconductor, cause keystrokes to act weird. And if your touchpad is part of the keyboard, same thing there. A new keypad is about 20 to 30 bucks online, and it easy to install. I may have one, but it does not have the touch pad bit.
