Harry Potter

Post by chex »

You might have realized that I'm slightly obsessed. ;) I didn't even start reading them until I was 16, and the first 4 books were out.

After reading the final book, I really wanted to know more about what happened at Hogwarts while Harry, Hermione, and Ron were off looking for Horcruxes. It seemed like it would have made for a really good story. I was talking about my need for a Dumbledore's Army book on my parenting board, and another member directed me to a piece of fanfic. It's basically canon compliant, and very well written. There are a few things I wasn't crazy about, but over all, I really enjoyed it.

If anyone else was as desperate to read about Neville, Ginny, and Luna, here's the link.

I am very proud of my Honeydukes sweetie jar, but it's not the same as reading the books I know.
Chex you would adore Harry Potter World, the attention to detail is second to none.
They even have a flying Golden Snitch in the window of Ollivanders. It's like a moving hologram.

Who would you go as?
All of the organisers are in costume or school robes. You would have to be careful that you weren't mistaken for one of the staff!

Bellatrix or Ginny.

I'll just have to practice this line: I don't work here. I'm just a delusional geek.

Lol or even something like, 'I am totally in touch with reality, I have my own wand, thank you.'

You would make a very good Hermione too but, Ginny is better for hair colour, I admit. ;)

Forgive me for being clueless, but what's a hairstick?

And dressing up for HP is awesome! When the new film comes out, me and my friends are having a party and going in costume to watch it.

It was a picture of the back of Chex's head, with a large purple pin through her hair. It had a dangley blingy bit on the end too. Very pretty and could easily double as a wand.

It was just a pic I found online. The one AJ was using was purple and sparkly, and had nothing dangling.

My hair isn't long enough to do that. It's not that red anymore, either.

This forum is quite nice for extra info, and (mostly) intelligent debate http://www.potterforums.com/index.php

Btw, I always check in here first before going there, so i'm not cheating on the NELG. Just seems to find more to say there, and it runs quicker at work for some reason. So my -recent- post count has been higher
