I know all the people that I am "friends" with. I deny the people that are just random. Many of my friends are people I went to high school with.... my graduating class was over 500.

But on this topic, another site I go on, people go around saying "Alialialia is my best friend!" and then I try to remember who they are. Serves me right for adding over 500 people.

But you can make good friends on these sites. I have a group of people I would consider myself to be friends with on there.

This isn't really about who your friends are, it's what defines a friend that's important.

It's not that we don't want to meet new people. Obviously we can make new friends on websites as a lot of us here on the forum have become quite fond of each other. However, FB tends to have a lot of personal information and lets people inside a bit more. Too much for comfort for some random person we have no idea who they are. FB is meant to be a controlled community for friends/family/networking. It is not anything like the Myspace community and should stay that way. I do not have 43468764321346697974324 friends. I think I'm at just under 100, but I do know each and every one of them, only two are family members.
