Interesting story. Not as creepy as you might think from the headline. Yesterday someone showed me a picture of an infant with a full tattoo sleeve. That made me really angry.

What do you think? Should the Mom get as much flak given the situation?

I think the mom in this situation should get probation and a suspended sentence. What was done was not out of drunken foolishness or misplaced vanity, but out of respect and rememberance. If you can get an infant's ears pierced, I am grey on letting a ten year old get a tattoo... but I don't think the mother shold be severely punished. Perhaps the tattoo artist should have known the law a bit better as well.
