No. 1: Cave Story
Nice retro Metroidvania platforming, coupled with an engaging, but touching, story.
No. 2: Dwarf Fortress
Roguelike thing; choose "Dwarf Fortress" to build a fortress or "Adventurer" to explore. Remember: Losing is fun.
No. 3: Dear Esther
MUCH more focused on story than gameplay!
No. 4: Octodad
Broken control scheme, but that's what makes the game fun!
No. 5: Treasure Adventure Game
Fun platform game with interesting story, I wondering if this is another Metroidvania though.
And there are much more out there. A good site to go to is tigsource.com. It has much interesting news for you to discover!
God, I just sounded like a 90s educational show...
P.S.: I would've given the links to the games, but "Your message contains too many URLs. The maximum number of URLs allowed is 1."
