They look like edible rubber bands. You could have natural colours as well, saffron for yellow, sepia ink for black, spinach for green, beet for red. Or just buy them at the store.

Yeah, I've bought the natural ones. The colors suck. The kids like them though, and I figure the little bit of extra nutrients is always good.
