Damn you Taco Bell!

Post by MisTer Pockets »

So Taco Bell released these new 'Bacon Cheesy Potato Burritos' a few days ago, and all I could think was "Wow, its like a super breakfast burrito!"

Well, I bought a few, and for the first time in my life, I don't want to ever look at bacon again. (until I am hungry again *cough*)

Taco Bell made me sick of BACON! :o

That is blasphemy! How can Taco Bell mess up bacon so badly that you don't like it anymore? Overkill?

Why would Pockets be ranting about your taco? Is there something you'd like to share?

Most stuff that is "spicy" is. Every time I go to Harvey's (I'm not sure if you yanks have Harvey's, but it's a burger place, but you watch them make your burger and tell them everything you want it as they make it) I tell them to load it up with banana peppers, and other people in line are always like "Oh my, isn't that too spicy?"

On a side note, have you ever had a habanero (sp?) pepper? I ate one once and cried like a little girl who had her newly acquired puppy kicked in the face in front of her.
And I said "Baby you're lookin' good",
That's when I noticed her legs were wood...

I agree bannanna peppers are a bit sweet. Habenero peppers are great for stews or tacos. they also go great in a salad. I have a sauce called sudden death @ my apt. I actually had to sign a waiver saying I would not sue them to get it. makes the best hot wings I have ever had. and I aint no damn Yank... I am a rebel.

I used to grow my own hot peppers and I had a variety of Habanero that was... well, it wasn't mild, but it did not blow your head off either. It was hot like a lightning bolt, but it still had a nice, complex flavor. Fruity and even a bit sweet through the pain. And the heat subsided almost as quickly as it arrived. The color was not bright angry orange like many habs, but rather a light yellowish gold. And the fruits were only 1.5 to 2 inches. Man, those were great....

I'm starting to wonder if maybe I've got the name of the pepper mixed up. Cuz this one blew me away, and I don't really have any problems eating spicy stuff. Or maybe I am a baby, who knows?

No, you were right. The Scotch Bonnet and Red Savina varieties of Habanero have the world record for hotness in Scoville Heat Units. The variety I was growing was hotter than any of my other peppers, just not as hot as those monster habs.
