The Sorting Hat

Post by Beany »

I've had a quick look and not seen one of these, so I'm sorry if I've missed it, but I'm intrigued to know what Hogwarts houses you'd all place yourselves in (or get placed in in a quiz).

Image

"... There's nothing hidden in your head
The Sorting Hat can't see,
So try me on and I will tell you
Where you ought to be.

You might belong in Gryffindor,
Where dwell the brave at heart,
Their daring, nerve, and chivalry
Set Gryffindors apart;

You might belong in Hufflepuff,
Where they are just and loyal,
Those patient Hufflepuffs are true
And unafraid of toil;

Or yet in wise old Ravenclaw,
if you've a ready mind,
Where those of wit and learning,
Will always find their kind;

Or perhaps in Slytherin
You'll make your real friends,
Those cunning folks use any means
To achieve their ends.

So put me on! Don't be afraid!
And don't get in a flap!
You're in safe hands (though I have none)
For I'm a Thinking Cap!"

I've taken a few quizzes and always been put in Hufflepuff.

Here's a quiz link if you're not sure: http://www.gotoquiz.com/pottermore_sorting_hat_quiz_2

I know this is only one sorting hat song but they're all a bit long for one post.

I did a similar test once on facebook and it put me in Gryffindor. The same result with this one.

Well that was unexpected.. ._. Not sure I understand the percentages either.

Congratulations! Welcome to SLYTHERIN HOUSE. Our emblem is the serpent, the wisest of creatures; our house colours are emerald green and silver, and our common room lies behind a concealed entrance down in the dungeons. We pride ourselves on ambition, determination, cunning and resourcefulness. Slytherin will help you on your way to greatness, not everyone in this house is evil or cowardly. Traits: Cunning, ambition, determination, resourcefulness and intellect. Notable People: Merlin (yes, Merlin was in Slytherin), the Malfoys, Severus Snape, Tom Riddle.

I guess I've always had this misconception that Slytherin was where horrible people went. :lol:

:lol: No. Many horrible people end up there, but Snape was spying on Voldemort for Dumbledore. (Spoiler alert?). Hell, Peter Pettigrew was in Gryffindor, and he ratted out the Potters to Voldemort. Look at Narcissa Malfoy. She was a Slytherin. Yes, her husband was a Death Eater and she supported Voldemort, but she did what she had to do and lied to Voldemort, saving Harry, because it was the only way she could get to her own son. Rather than worrying about who she supported, or doing the "right" thing, she did what was necessary for her family.

Those smurf' hobbit movies were boring as hell. All it was, was a bunch of people walking, three movies of people walking to a smurf volcano.

I smurf love Kevin Smith.

Lol I think I see your point, Chex. At least in regards to Slytherin. I would likely choose The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings series over Harry Potter though... :oops:
