I started watching the first season.
IMDB
So far I really like it. Right now I'm on season 1 episode 4.
About 6 minutes in to the first episode, I came across a line of quotes that stuck out to me.
They mostly suck out as kind of weird. Ragnar is the main character, and Lagertha is his wife.
They are laying in bed, and they are talking about their love, and he says he dreams of her all the time, then this.
Ragnar, "Last night I dreamt you were feeding me blood pudding."
Lagertha, "What does that mean?"
Ragnar, "It means you're giving me your heart."
I had to double take that saying.

Yeah, it gets weirder. I won't tell why but sometimes I had the feeling that the producers needed more tension and unexpected twist (besides all the blood thirst) to keep viewers interested.
I doubt that it reflects real Viking life but it is well made. Here the first two seasons were shown on TV, the third is only available via amazon. >.< I hate it when that happens.

Re: Vikings
Yeah, me too.
I watched an episode midst of season one. I liked it, but I'm going to start from the beginning some day, watching it on-line.
So many series, so little time, and no computer connected to the TV yet. *sigh*

One more reason to get Netflix or amazon prime.
