As a decoration they are a-ok. As an aid to correcting multiple vision problems, they are a-ok.

Is gambling in the work place illegal?

What about 50/50 draws?

Or chase the ace things where 20% of the winnings each week go to a super jackpot to who ever draws the ace of spades?

It's a growing jackpot thing with growing odds as more cards are removed from the deck

My hands are so frigging dry ... dryer than they ever been in my life.

Is this an age thing?

Or is it cause my house has century old wood in it and the wood is so dry it's sucking the moisture out of my hands?

Seriously, my hands are painfully dry and it's been cold as hell lately, minus 20 CELSIUS without the windchill.

My hands are cracking up like a dry desert or something

My hands are messed up for real and bust open and bleed now.

I have to use lotion for the first time in my life as a man.

Sucks man

I have always had this problem my entire life because of my eczema. I find it to be the worst in extreme cold winters and my feet get really bad on hardwood floors (yet I'm trying to restore all the wood floors in my house lol). So it's likely a combination of the two, but I could be wrong. We'll see what Zot has to say.

On a side note, although I don't have diabetes, I found no other lotion to do a better job than Gold Bond's Diabetics' Dry Skin Relief. If you find that you are having to lotion multiple times a day, I highly recommend this stuff. It doesn't have the same texture as normal lotions and actually gets into the skin rather than just smearing around your skin.

I've only ever started using lotion ever this past week, stealing it from coworkers

I do hate how it makes my hands all slippery and takes a while to absorb in.

Interesting

Yeah, I hate that too. This stuff is awesome and goes a long way. It's only a 3.4 oz bottle but I have had this thing for almost six months.

Maybe I'll just try to find some diabetic cream and have my coworkers wonder what that's about lol

Cold = lower relative humidity = dry skin.

If you don't like the hand cream you are stealing, maybe try a lotion that has lanolin? My older brother has problems in Winter with his fingertips cracking, so he uses that sometimes. Careful, though... cats like that stuff, too.

Chomp.

Thanks man what about the workplace gambling question :)

Cause I feel like people are being really enticed to buy tickets for this thing, they are making a super show about it and people are way too into it,.

Office pools and whatnot are a grey area. Depending on what state/country you live in, that stuff can be illegal or legal or whatever, but who ever finds out? If gambling is illegal in your state, then office pools are also technically illegal. But if it is small time like 50 bucks, then the authorities don't care.

I got a free cup of coffee today at the Flying J. Free danish as well! :)

Makes no difference. The dog track makes 157,000 a day, and thus they pay tax, license fees, etc. Your office pool is still small potatoes.

I see more and more people put their wipers in the up position now, I never used to do this but I did it today. Do you do it when it snows? I don't remember people doing this years ago... is it some new fad or have I not been paying attention?

Older cars had wipers that would not move all the way up like that. Now that people can do it, they like to be able to scrape the whole windshield without the wipers getting in the way. I usually don't do it, partly because I am lazy.... or forgetful.

Do you ever get freezing rain up there? Right now we are in between a warm front and the cold front that was so lovely. It snowed last night, which turned into sleet, and now rain. The ground is still so cold that the rain is freezing on just about everything. It makes the morning kind of shitty, but it is getting warmer and warmer, going to hit 47F this afternoon and take care of all the snow and ice so I don't have to, ha ha ha!

Do we ever get freezing rain up here? For real did you just ask me that lol

SOOOO often

To the point that ice forms on trees and powerlines etc and a few years back, on December the 23rd we declared a state of emergency over it! My Grandfather was without power for a WEEK

Powerlines all over the province were smurf and they had military trimming frozen branches etc etc

Ice built up and weighed down heavy on everything and trees just gave up and fell the smurf down

It was nuts
