Iconic movies you shoulda seen and everyone else has but you

Post by Clarence »

Let's talk about this.

You know, movies that are so popular they're referenced and parodied all the time, like the matrix and the slow mo bullet dodge scene?

Well for me ... let's see...

I never seen Clockwork Orange, and that shazam! is parodied all ... the ... time ... and I'm left out always. What's wrong with me? I gotta get 2 hours and finally see it. All I know about it is it's a bunch of weirdos with top cats, canes and wacky eye shadow ???

I tried to see the Godfather but my head wasn't in the right place or something cause I couldn't focus on it and retained nothing.

Surely you guys have heard of movies to death but never bothered to see them?

I have never even heard of Clockwork Orange. I think I've seen the Godfather, but I was very young and really don't remember much. I've heard that the second one is better, though.

There are a shitton of movies people are always amazed that I haven't seen, but for the life of me I cannot remember them. That's my problem. I get told to watch something and then I forget it.

I tried watching A Clockwork Orange, but was bored out of my smurf skull. I haven't seen any Godfather movies. Requiem for a Dream is one I should probably get around to watching, but I've never bothered.

Requiem for a Dream made Ninja beat up a cop and then jump through a plate glass window.

Godfather
ET

Never seen, probably never will, unless a future significant other complains, and pushes me to watch them.

Hell, I went and saw Titanic in theatres(when they remastered it or whatever) with a girl I was friends with, but really liked, but ended up going as just friends because I botched the asking out and date part xP

Same here.

Strangers on a train (Frequently quoted in the crime series I love to watch, but never seen it myself. I love old movies though so if I can get my hands on it...)
It's a wonderful life (Have the DVD now, will watch it next Christmas season)
Titanic (This will never happen. I don't like Leonardo DiCaprio)
ET (Couldn't be bothered)

War horse I've watched last week. It's recommendable.
Schindlers list is a must. Seen it three times now.

It is fun to go down the list on this wiki and see which ones I've seen, which ones I know about, and which ones I have never heard of.

ET! That is one I have not seen in its entirety from start to finish. Another movie I have not seen in its entirety that I know soooooo many people who obsess over it is Nightmare Before Christmas.

The only Star Wars I've seen was The Phantom Menace and it wasn't great - I'd love to watch to original trio just haven't got round to it.

Haven't seen most of these films, but I lot of them I keep meaning to, like Schindler's List, ET. Not really too bothered about Jaws. Equally haven't seen War Horse or A Clockwork Orange (though i've started reading it). I'd like to see Requiem for a dream too.

I also really need to see Fight Club and Jurassic Park. And Lord of The Rings (I think I saw the first one but I was very young, maybe 8, and don't remember it)

Fight Club! My three favorite movies thus far are The Martian, Boondock Saints, and Fight Club.

One of my favorite lines that I have used often comes from Fight Club.

I wanted to destroy something beautiful.

I saw Fight Club in the theater. :) As a projectionist, I could identify with what they were doing, I could also point out what they were doing wrong.
