Chili

Post by Moe »

Basically I use Hamburger and Tomato sauce (though I keep getting told to use hot picante sauce)
Then I dice up around 4ozs of Habenero peppers, and throw in a 10oz can of Rotel Hot Diced Tomatoes with Habeneros(opened of course)

Let it boil long enough for all the hot to simmer, then let it cool down to eating tempurature.

It's really hot, but far from the hottest chili I've had.

Oh, and the typical spices, you know, cumin, onion powder, chili powder, cayenne pepper powder..
Sometimes I'll dice up half of a colored bell pepper too, just to add filling

EDIT**
I forgot the beans! I use two cans of Joan of Arc spicy chili beans

Wow! I want some, maybe on a piece of cornbread. Maybe on a hot dog.

I'm not sure if I'm a chili person or not. I like my mom's chili, but she hates spicy food, so hers is really sweet. I should try making some that isn't sweet or spicy. (Apple Jack can't handle any spice.) Not putting it on a hot dog though. We sell chili cheese dogs at work, and I feel like I should try them so I can let customers know if they're any good, but I can't bring myself to try one.

I like chili because it's super easy to make. It's even easier to make it if it isn't sweet or spicy.

If you use the spices you don't need a sauce! Just use tinned tomatoes and an onion and reduce it down a little, is cheaper :)
