One of the major factors that contributed to WW II was the compensations that Germany had to pay after WW I. The treaty of Versailles ordered a payback that was so huge that it was virtually impossible for Germany to pay it. Then in 1929 the economical crisis hit and a lot of people lost their job. After multiple governmental crises Hitler saw his chance and took power. So yeah, it was THAT bad, and worse.

People said the same thing about Obama. I think the people who are more likely to assassinate a president are also the people more likely to support Trump.
