Just an observation... with my personality, I am nice, but predictable. I am a constant, so I fit in the background of so many people's lives without much notice. Did the sun come up today? Is Michael helpful and in a pleasant mood?
Yes to both. Including here, I got 7 or 8 warm wishes for my birthday. I don't really worry about such things, but it is interesting.

A very happy belated birthday Zot. I hope you had a nice, enjoyable day. Sorry that I missed it, I needed some time to think about some things.
You don't fit in the background, submerging into people's lives because it is convenient. You are more important than that. And if people don't see that it's their own fault.
Today I thought that another year has passed by without much notice, people rather tend to call you when they want something from you or feel the need to bicker about minor issues.
Then I read my emails. And one little thank you made me smile and made all worth it.
Keep the ones who make you smile. <3

My observation was neither a cry for attention nor a complaint. You guys are all pretty awesome.
In fact, most of my friends are pretty awesome. The fact that they don't bother to say hello on my birthday is not really a black mark on them, more a commentary on society in general.
