So this is where we go on and on about pointless things right? Well earlier today, during school hours, some of my friends were visiting and HDI site. Basically it's a site that lists the 182 HDI'd countries in order form best to worse... and guess what? They were complaining about how the USA is #13, because aparently they think that the US should be #1! I mean COME ON PPLS. 13/182 is very, very good in HDI terms, and so what the USA isn't the most developed? Does it really matter when you get that close up? Get a grip! What made me especially angry, is that they were complaining that Canada, and Australia in perticular were more highly developed than the USA! Not only that, but now, because of this I am even more angry when people try to stereotype Americans as Lazy and Whiney in this way.

It makes me feel like such a geek when I rant about crap online.

26th I think is our position (I can't be bothered to check Wiki right now) which is still considered to be at the top - there's a separate category for the top 30ish - Highly developed or something like that

Actualy last time I checked UK was 22... witch is still, pretty good in HDI terms.

Yeah. 13th or 22nd is very good out of almost 200. And besides, although HDI's a measure of developement, it doesn't give.. the full picture, if that makes sense. statistics aren't always completely reliable.
