WORD GUESSING II: THE GUESSENING

Welcome to Season 2 of Word Guessing (actually season 3 but who cares)

So, here are the rules.

I will think of a word, then tell how many letters it has. For example,

5 letters
_ _ _ _ _

Then, the next person guesses a word. Say my word is “glove” and the second person guesses “green”. The “g” is in the correct position, so I put

G _ _ _ _

Then if the next guess is “grove”, I put this,

G _ O V E

And if the next guess is “glove”, then that guesser wins, gets a point, The person who thought of the word got a point, and the guesses gets the option to play or pass.

First to 20 points (could be changed later) will win this season

In my opinion, playing for points can be both good and bad. it makes it more complicated, but it also provides a finite end to the game. Not sure why the word provider gets a point. Or do they get a point per guess?
I get why the person who guessed the correct word gets a point.

It may be better to hash out these details before we dive into it.

I give the word provider a point so somebody doesn’t keep passing to get another point, and nobody would want to provide the word, but I can change that.

A point per guess would make the 20 point goal too easy, and word providers would easily overpower guessers. Maybe a quarter of a point then it rounds.

I put a finite end so we will have an eventual winner, in my opinion it’s much more exciting then just playing without keeping score.

As it stands, it would be more complicated than fun. We have had that happen in here before with certain guessing games. The easiest way to make a word guessing game finite is just to maintain the "hangman" format.
