Merry Holidays to all you fine fellers.
My folks and such did Christmas yesterday evening, as both my brother and I worked this morning.
I worked 15 hours today, 5 of which is sitting in a car. Long day, only 8 hours is holiday pay(2.5x), the other 7 is just regular overtime pay.(1.5x)

Working on holidays is so much "fun." For years I missed all kinds of holidays because of work.

Our shifts are broken into three rotations of 6 days on, 2 days off, with a 4 day weekend every 6 weeks. This allows so that each rotation gets the same number of weekends off, though it plays wonky on holidays sometimes. (Though they even out too over a few years). The woes of working in a place that needs to be staffed 24/7.
