Old NELG Gallery of Poetry

Post by Dowster »

Ok to begin with im just gonna copy/paste my own. There is a hell of a lot to look through but if anyone has any favorites they would like to copy over the link is here http://s234196506.onlinehome.us/forum/ Community section, near top of page 2

So I`ll start from the beginning

Chaos - Josh/Dowster

No peace or serenity
Calmness or rest
My head`s full of chaos
My mind is a mess

My thoughts they just flicker
and glimmer and spark
I have tunes made of silence
And patterns of dark

I want to shut down
And log off for the day
But the chaos stays with me
It won`t go away

So I lie and be silent
I block out the light
The calmness is coming
Im winning the fight

At last all is quiet
and Im prasing the lord
..No wait bring back the chaos
Now Im (beep)ing bored

Still Here - Josh/Dowster

For the days of my life, the paths it has taken
Some dark and some winding, so many mistaken
For the times I`ve been slipping without hope toward the brink
So unable to ascend with the same speed I sink

For all that my will has been battered and tested
It remains still intact and yet to be bested
For those cold days of weakness when I so nearly quit
For all this, life you`ve not beaten me yet

For each moment and instant I steal for myself
I am happy regardless of everything else
I live for what beauty, what joy I can find
You will not stop me, just try.. I don`t mind

At the end of the day each life ends the same
So im taking as much as I can from your game
While there are still battles and I must still strive
Each fresh dawn that breaks reminds me im alive

So for everyday forward that I am still here
I`ll take the good with the bad and new hope with the fear
Someday I`ll be gone but not here not now
And for today I`ll be happy, this is my vow

Light At The End, Josh/Dowster

It`s dark in here, it`s dark and it`s quiet
They say there`s a light at the end...I don`t buy it
So I must pick a direction and march steadily on
Not sure if it`s forward, just hope im not wrong

Some days the going`s easy and I make good progress
Others bring forth demons out of the darkness
And at last I can see it, a small pin hole of light
The answer, my salvation. Looks like they were right

Then I get closer and realise I`ve seen it before
This light`s not the exit, it`s a (beep)ing bulb on the wall
But I stop underneath it and look up above
And it surrounds me with beauty with warmth and with love

Now I am ready for the next stage to start
I take that little light with me in my head and my heart
The tunnel just goes onward, with more demons and fights
But if I look closely I`ll find plenty more lights

The Reaper - Dowster/Josh (not the Reaper that posts here  )

On the day the heavens cracked
you could hear the angels cry
As the dark seeds of destruction
Rained downward from the sky

For every bright beginning
There comes a final end
An end which is delivered
By the one that they did send

He takes without discrection
Without prejudice or pause
From the evilest of evil
To the holiest of all

You may try to please him
By taking up his work
He will watch and smile
With an evil knowing smirk

He`ll walk along beside you
And you`ll be the best of freinds
He`ll lead you and will guide you
To the bitterest of ends

There is no escaping
So we just keep him at bay
For as long as we can manage
And cherish every day

When our time on earth is up
He will take us all as planned
With his good grace we`ll take our place
Among the lost but not the damned

Finally

Swearing - Josh/Dowster, it was made it up in response to this post
bella wrote::lol: You guys seem to like swearing...

I love to flucking swear
All the flucking time
And this shazam! aint a poem
It`s just a flucking rhyme

I say jabberwocky and princess sophia and fluck
And shazam! in every verse
Go sheep yourself if you don`t like
To hear me cuss and curse

My language is quite filthy
The swear words they come fast
And if you think this rhyme is shazam!
It`s coz I pulled it out my bottom

TIME TO GET THIS THREAD GOING AGAIN.

Necrophilia.

There's the cold brass buttons against the skin
Cold to the minute, to the extent of thin,
And cellophane wrappers from quality streets,
And necklaces, not his, but hers.
Unlaced chucks upon the floor,
On the bed, a sleeping Shay,
A string of cat's cradle on the hat stand
Outside, a yellow marching band.
A liquorice thread of alpine black
And eat it whole, the pointless snack
Understandable once, but sour still,
Like sandals and ribbons and switches and pills.

Red once, yellow now
You didn't notice
Necrophilia is unnecessary
A bitter sweet
A stranging dream
So are we.

La La La La

La La La La
Fingers in ears
La La La La
Reduce you to tears
La La La La
Way past hearing
La La La La
I'm not listening.

Scream at me and make me stop,
Is what you aim to do,
No matter how smurf hard you try
I'm not leaving you.

La La La La
Step on your toes
La La La La
You play dead I suppose
La La La La
Way past hearing
La La La La
I'm not listening.

Your shouts, your tears your cries for help
No one will listen here.
'Cause babe, what more could you want than me?
I'm not too harsh, my dear.

Oh no you don't,
Can't call the police,
I wouldn't let you, would I?
You and me, we grew up together,
Live together,
Stay together,
I was so damn good to you,
It's your fault I lose my temper.

Violent? Me? Watcha say that for,
You slag, you jabberwocky, you downright Shay.
This'll teach you not to make mistakes
And don't you dare run away.

You didn't know I was poetical, did ya?
Bet you didn't know I was this strong either.
Now be a good girl and shut up for a sec.
The telly's not getting any louder.

Don't you stand up to me, dear.
You know what that'll come to.
Answer me, bloody ANSWER ME.
Don't scream babe, I'm only walking towards you...

La La La La
Can't see you breathing
La La La La
TV this evening
La La La La
Way past hearing
La La La La
I'm not listening.

Maybe I'd better help silence those screams of yours, hmm?

By The Sea

I

Rage and cassettes, scent of sweet cigarettes,
Lovely you are by the pier by the sea
You don't notice the rain slipping onto your hair
Or the man standing here next to me.

You don't understand my faraway plans
You don't return my texts,
As if one day you'll tell me you knew all along
And want me to give it a rest.

I realise the alternative is mine to take,
And take it is what I do,
From my black metal bag slips a cheap plastic revolver,
And smiling I aim it at you.

II

You see this coming, oh, how could this be
That the kill in my hand doesn't stir?
Instead you take me and sit we on the bench on the pier,
And stare and tell me of her.

In this monologue alone, things do become clear,
I see we are less different than thought.
We shake hands and nod like strangers at dawn,
Not afraid of becoming the caught.

Let's be adults, I tell, and you agree with me once,
And let's walk away from the pier.
Let's not hold hands, or run in the sands,
Let's grow and move on so from here.

III

But at times like these we can make our mistakes,
Can forget, and we walk not a care.
Leaving the pistol alone on the deck-
To lose my life wasn't worth the affair.

Fairground

The rides aren't working
This town abandoned
Swinging seats and rusted tracks
Suspended levers and safety nets

Why don't you listen?
You don't seem to notice
My eyes wasted away
Like Victorian lace
Like sour lemon strepsils
Like clouds in the day

Opal fruits like currency
It all mattered
So much
You said you'd wait
I believed in you
But the thing I can't get over is
You said it would work

Optimism, thanks,
I'll opt out today
Your dreams of a fairground
Where the kids would smurf play
'What smurf kids?' I scream down the phone.
'What smurf us?' you whisper back.

You don't get it, you say,

But I wish I did,

Maybe
It's better if you leave me alone.

You put down the phone.
You hang up first.
Then scream and curse
And redial me again
And when I don't answer
You sink to the floor
In a puddle of your melted dreams.
The fairground is empty again
Swinging seats and rusted tracks,
And it's raining hard
And you leave first.
And it's raining hard.
And we leave the fairground
Leave the dream
And turn off the lights
Turn off each other
And shut the gates.
And go.

Okey :/

I might be able to recover the text document with all my old ones from my broken harddrive.

Well, time to start posting new ones here then :P

I'm helpless
Broken and beaten
I'm lost in darkness
Left to never be seen

My heart is scarred
By the heartless
My soul is ripped
By the souless

See what I have seen
Feel what I felt
Realize that you hurt me
Give me hope

I'm completly brain dead on ideas for new poems oO
This was easier when I were depressed... Not rly at that emotional break point anymore, were easier to write about my own emotions at the moment of writing xD

Found a poem I wrote in yr 2, so I'll post it here:

Bella had a new umbrella - she didn't want to lose it
So when she went out in the rain she didn't ever use it.
Her nose went squish, her socks got soggy
Her pockets filled with water and a little green froggy.
All she could speak was a weak Atchoo!
But Bella's new umbrella stayed nice and new.

I remember writing this now. I wanna draw the froggy again!

Hey, I thought I didn't recognise it so I Googled it. I didn't make it up - just copied and edited a bit of it. It must've been when I was doing speech and drama when I was little. Will put in a poem I know I wrote at some point soon.
