Anxiety

Anxiety, but I don't know what's worng
I have a sense of danger
And I feel it pretty strong
It's messing with my brain
What the hell is going on
I tremble and look for a way out
and know at the same time
there is nothing ro fear
no danger here
nothing to run from
except myself.

I really like that poem. I have a few people in my family that suffer from anxiety and that really rings true.

Fear

I'm afraid,
so very afraid
to go to sleep at night
To close my eyes
and drift away
in dreamless sleep
and loose control
So very afraid
to wake up
next morning
to find the world
is still the same place
it's always been

I am tired
so very tired
of life
of feeling so lonely
when there's people
all around me
So very tired
of being in control
tired of living
not being alive
wishing it would end

Somehow.

I really wish I knew how to write. So much I just want to get down into words that I can't seem to be able to. Any suggestions from you fellow writers?

Put anything at all down on paper. A few words here, a few there. As the words fall from your pen, more words will come, and pretty soon you will find yourself expressing ideas that surprise even yourself.

I don't write anymore but...

i get incredibly inspired by other people's poetry. Going to poetry readings sounds really boring but they can be pretty good and often they're free if they're randomers :D but if you google 'poetry' something is bound to come up that could inspire you. Music is also pretty inspirational, as can be films and documentaries and things that other people say.

if you already have the ideas in your head, looking at other literature, music and art can help you to see how OTHER people get it down on paper, and it could help you to as well?

Music is poetry in two 'languages'.

There is no reason why not.

So I'm just about done with my creative writing course. My teacher got me into poetry instead of just stories. This was one of the best things I wrote.

Empty Chair
Solitude is like an empty chair.
You sit by yourself to escape, yet end up going nowhere.
Alone, disconnected from society.
You are invisible to all that is around, for nothingness is the antithesis of curiosity.

No attention shall befall the kind
Who shelter their own gaze from within their own minds.
Although observation is key, it matters not if you observe from the skies.
Nothingness won’t advert eyes.

You crave attention as you stare.
But none will fall; you are but an empty chair.
This is also on my blog.

Forgot to post this from a few weeks ago.

Haven
Rain pours down against the glass.
like an ocean, engulfed by the flames of regret.
Only the faint of music brightness the darkness,
drowned out in the misery.

Stationed in this haven, I reside; drowning in stasis.
Reflecting on my failures, diverting from the future
Living for the moment
in solitude.

Why am I here?
What is there to look forward to when all else has failed?
I subside in this emptiness for the world is empty.
There is nothing here.
I am here.
