What does the "Wo" in "Woman" mean?

Re: Ask the Zot!
It is a modern collapsing and breakdown of the old English basically meaning Wife, as in woman is the wife of man.
Before anyone gets all man-bashy and hateful toward men for all being misogynist because of the English Language, just remember that the language itself is / was evolving and there were fewer words, fewer terms to make descriptions. Centuries ago there was only one word for the Sun. One word for a rock. That the language now seems one sided against women, it is a coincidence. And it is evolving. Chairman? Chairwoman? Chairperson.
Get it?

I was just wondering why men don't get a suffix. It used to be werman.

Re: Ask the Zot!
You mean prefix? Like I said, the language is evolving. And English certainly is a sticky wicket. Having roots in German, Nordic, Gaelic, and Latin, with a smidgen of Greek thrown in before they even start just making up words from scratch. Tintinnabulation. Spellcheck even recognizes that one. Thanks, Edgar.

What do you call someone in the middle and what bathroom do they use?

I don't care, as long as they don't pee on the floor, and they wash their hands when they are done.

Re: Ask the Zot!
No, a transgender is not "in the middle". The correct term for someone who has charasteristics of both man and woman or who feels both male and female would be androgyn.

Accessible vs Available, what's the difference?
I am currently in an argument with someone on reddit, so I just want a third opinion

Re: Ask the Zot!
They are very similar, but you would use available in a more general sense, and accessible in more of a specific sense, usually (but not always) work related. Accessible is often used to describe a boss who is open to his underlings. Available can be used to describe anyone who is not otherwise engaged, busy, and or occupied, thus making them unavailable.

Re: Ask the Zot!
Nothing broken, but my left calf is about 20% bigger than the right one. And very tight / stiff. Limited range of motion. Nathan (my Sifu) gave me some Chinese herbs and a plaster to apply to the area so I don't make it worse while hauling washers and dryers around. He says if it is not better by Tuesday, he will do some acupuncture to it.
