political differences in the chex household

Post by chex »

I really should learn not to even mention Don't Ask Don't Tell around the Republican. (That would be Mr. chex) I mentioned that the senate had repealed DADT, and read a few quotes from the article. Then I was subjected to a lecture on why DADT isn't a bad thing, and they're a minority, and blah blah blah. Apparently my freedom defending husband believes that freedom should only be guaranteed to the majority. Easy for the straight white male to say. balloon knot.

Opinions like that give me the impression homosexuals are all a bunch of egocentrics who tell everyone -without even being asked- their sexual orientation. Why do people still feel uncomfortable at the thought of being in the vicinity of someone not sharing their gender preference?
What you don't know won't hurt you. Yeah, lying is better. And of course it's better if you are not even asked because then you don't even have to lie. How considerate. *rolls eyes*

DADT needed to be repealed! And the president has already said that he will pass it into law. :D :D :D

You should tell your husband to follow snow.

Just kidding. Kinda. ;)

I fail to see why homosexuals
would create an unacceptable risk to the high standards of morale, good order and discipline, and unit cohesion that are the essence of military capability.
(Wikipedia)
,
and heterosexuals would not, since there are both men and women in the armed forces.
It implies the homosexuals are promiscuous and undisciplined by nature. I am sure that that is not the case.

Part of the issue is the showers. In basic training, they have to shower together. Men and women are separated, but they worry about sexual harassment when introducing Teh Gays into Teh Naked Time.

I say get the smurf over it. It's a body. We all have them. And just because a dude likes mister friendly, doesn't mean he likes yours, you egomaniac.
