Kid punished for standing up to bully.

Post by Wesley »

I don't condone violence. However, self defense is another matter. The story says that the big kid was picked on incessantly, and finally fought back. I don't know, I was not there. Either way, watch the video and have civilized thoughts in your head.

If he had been constantly been picked on, why didn't he do anything before? He's just standing there letting himself get hit by a much smaller, hyperactive kiddo who wants to show off, until he explodes. And what about those voyeristic kids behind the camera or watching the whole scene, laughing and having fun?
All of them should have gotten some form of punishment.

Yes, he does not deserve suspension, but he shouldn't let it all boil up...

But seriously I can't see these videos.

Okay then, I will sup it up for you. Casey was kinda fat, and got made fun of from about grade 2 up to grade 10. In grade 8 the friends that he had left him because of peer pressure or cowardice or whatever, so he had no friends to help him stand up to the other kids picking on him. Finally, a younger skinny bully kid was picking on him, his friends were filming it, and the bully punched Casey right in the face. When he did not react, the bully intensified the attacks; trying to punch him in the face, the belly, etc. Finally, Casey had enough, grabbed the little bully and picked him up, then slammed him to the ground. The dude filming it put it online, and it almost immediately went viral. Now everyone knows how Casey stood up to a bully, and almost the whole world is on his side.

Principals and teachers need to start doing something about bullying maby in this case he finally stood up for himself but in too many other cases kids do commit suicide or live their lives thinking they are inferior. they can say they don't see it either cause they do and as far as i'm concerned letting it happen is a form of child abuse!

Principals can't really change anything . kids are mean . kids say the truth even when it hurts , actually aspecially when it hurts . that is life .
what can be done is parents who need to talk to their kids and ask them to behave and accept the differant whatever it is .
parents should ask their children to put themselvs in the other kids shoes just to try to understand the other side feelings.
parents should teach their children to respect all and to help others .
parents should be aware of how they treats others

Aweek ago my daugter (hell this word) and her (boy)freind asked me to tell this other kid that we need to go so he'd live'em alone . so i did , and the kid went away . then they said that no one is a freind with him and bla bla , at this very moment i called him back meenwhile i told them shortly hwow important its to help him out and play with him ,when he got near us i asked him to join us , we went home with him , he is a damm weirdo but we had some fun with him , he thought us 'smart' kids games - we had a laugh (not at him-but with him) , that was a great evening and everybody felt good about it .

What i'm saying , this job need to be done in doors . in our doors .

These are wise words, eff. If parents can't teach their kids basic rules of social interaction, how could a principal or teacher do it? Parents are the ones who are role models and the ones kids listen to the most (which doesn't mean teachers can't do anything about it, the best would be all of them working together).

i agree that in a prefect world parents should be responsible for their kids but the sad truth is that most kids that bully have problems in their home whether a form of abuse or neglect so they take their anger out on other kids and if school authorities could catch bulling and send the child who bullies to the guidance counselor they may be able to find out why the kid is bulling and get him or her help.

I'll bite you!

And agreed Tee, those kids definitely need some counselling, the bullies and the ones who are bullied. Both often have a low self esteem and either try to dominate others to make themselves feel superior or let themselves be turned into victims.

I say we beat them all with a sack of oranges. That way, they're all on equal ground.

What, that doesn't work?

That kid (Casey Heynes) should have been given a medal.
And I said "Baby you're lookin' good",
That's when I noticed her legs were wood...
