Game of Thrones

Post by Shay »

Just wondering if anyone has been following this series? For all those 18+ and don't mind a bit of nudity, I highly recommend this show. It's only on episode 5, so it wouldn't be too long to catch up. I would not just jump right in, however. Though it may be only on the fifth episode, it is one of those shows where every single scene has a purpose.

The books are quite long and not finished yet. If I remember right, they are still working on the fifth one, correct?

Winter is coming!

Game of Thrones starts up again this Sunday. I'm really looking forward to it. I have been patiently waiting, but the patience has run out. When we get home from work in the morning, Sean and I are going to have a Game of Thrones marathon all day and re-watch season 1 so we can be fresh for season 2 on Sunday. (Too much going on Sat and Sun to do it then.)

Bumping this thread a little.

Is this worth reading/watching, considering i never have to time to watch any tv and am not that into fantasy? Because i recently discovered that the author of my favourite book, City of thieves, co-created and produces Game of thrones (the author's David Benioff, he also wrote the 25th Hour if you've heard of that).

Personally I think it's worth a watch and read. I have not been reading the books, but Sean has. The events in the books happen a lot differently and some stuff that I feel is valuable is missing from the show. But even still, the show is really good too. Be prepared for a lot of nudity though. It's an HBO series for a reason (here in the states anyway).

So George and I started watching GoT a few days ago, we finished the first season in three days. It's excellent! but everyone I know thinks it's hilarious I'm only on Season 2…

I'm excited for dragons and shazam!.

Don't feel silly! I finally convinced my friend, Crystal, to start watching GoT today. She's not seen a single episode. I'm really glad you're enjoying it and I can't wait for my friend to get sucked in too.

TV broadcasting stations in the Netherlands suck. They aired the first two season of GoT, then stopped. The rest we would have to watch on HBO, which we don't receive. Same with Once upon a time.
I'm so going to watch these on the internet.

Yeah, I don't even bother with paying for TV because you always have to pay way too much to get the good channels, and even then you're not guaranteed to get them. Everything you'd ever want to watch is almost always somewhere on the net.

LaLou, I feel ya, sometimes they do that here too - they show a tv show on a normal channel for a couple seasons then decide to broadcast it on Sky which we don't have at home.

Already started Season 2, I'm pretty sure it won't take me long to watch it all...

Finished Season 2 today while I was meant to be doing work. Gonna have to stop it for a few weeks to do work now I think, unfortunately..

Oh, it is. All the deadly sins are in it: Lust, Gluttony, Greed, Sloth, Wrath, Envy and Pride. Lots of people get killed and there's even some incest. (That was not much of a spoiler because it's in the first episode).
