uhh... on a 'lectric guitar, under the strings where you strum, there are those things that go higher and lower if the screw gets turned, where's the best place for them ? (I know for a FACT that they've been messed with in the past)

I believe you are referring to the pickups. Bringing them closer to the strings will increase the sensitivity, but it will also increase the chances for distortion if you are a heavy player. Lower will produce a "cleaner" sound, though it will be a bit quieter.

Actually, I swapped my guitar with my brothers -- one that was waay outta tune, but I can still post one if you like!

Whichever guitar you have, tune it. It will make you feel better.

Well, when I tuned it, last night, it sounded mostly in tune! :D

Even better, it was at 1:30 AM when my ears usually pick up sounds better!
