The Number Machine

The number machine is a difficult challenge to give your brain a workout!

The rules are simple. At the start you are given a target number. It could be any value between -1000 and 1000, however it is unlikely to be complex. When you play, you post a number. A certain rule is followed for what happens to it, for example, it could be:

Input x 2 + 6 = Output
Note that the rule could lenght anything between 2 and 6 elements, and the formula would always be solved left to right, not by BIDMAS rules.

But the rule would be kept secret. The number you posted would be the input. I would tell you the output (it would be the same rule each time someone posted a number). The object of the game is to post the correct input to receive the target number as the output. To play, say 'I insert (your #) into the number machine.' or just post your number. Example of a game:

benjamin2: The target number is 52.
User1: I insert 24 into the number machine.
User2: I insert 60 into the number machine.
benjamin2: User1, your output is 44.
User2, your output is 116.
User3: I insert 50 into the number machine.
User1: I insert 26 into the number machine.
benjamin2: User3, your output is 96.
User1, your output is 48.
User2: I insert 28 into the number machine.
benjamin2: User 2 wins! The rule was INPUT x 2 - 4 = OUTPUT!
28 x 2 - 4 = 52! The new target is 35.

Then, the hidden rule would be changed, and the game would restart. Always remember the output is achieved by solving the sum from left to right!

The first target is 35.
