This is super awesome. Would love to have an instrument like this. I bet it costs quite a bit since they only make so many a year.

I did some research after I posted this. Yeah.. a new one runs anywhere from $7k-$15k. A used one is significantly cheaper though, which is surprising to me just how much cheaper. A used one runs on the market for only $500-$1k

Hahaha 'only' $500-1k. it looks like something you could make yourself... only i guess it must be a lot harder than it looks.

Oh, don't get me wrong. That's still a lot of money. But I was referring to "only" in comparison to brand new price range. It definitely looks like something you could make yourself, but I haven't the slightest clue how to go about that. D:

D: maybe i should give my dad a new project. He's made a bass guitar, an electric violin, a synthesiser keyboard, half the furniture in our house and our stained-glass front door, he should be able to manage that.

There was a film on Sesame Street where these kids find an old oil drum and take it to a guy who makes it into a Jamaican Steel Drum. It showed how he cut it and heated it and tuned it and everything! You need to find that video on YouTube, then watch it upside down.

Hahaha. Upsidedown would be interesting. Also, when my dad retires again (he retired, very early, once already but went back to his old job) i may show him that video...

I forgot how much I friggin' LOVE many of the songs on The Chieftains' album The Long Black Veil. I used to listen to this album all the time when I would hang out at my Aunt's in early Elementary school. We would play it in the car or turn the volume up really loud in the house and dance around the living room and dining room. ;D

Currently listening to "Changing My Demenour".

As soon as we move back into a house this summer and I can sing without having to worry about disrupting the neighbors, I will be uploading to my YouTube account again and replacing some of the not so great videos. One of the first ones I'll be doing that I haven't done yet is "The Foggy Dew". :)

Friend of mine DJ's around the country and is constantly entering competitions. He needs a certain number of plays to even be considered into the competition. Why not have a listen? It's fairly long. You don't have to listen to the whole thing if you don't want to, just have to press play. :)
