It feels like they are changing the characters a little bit. In the past few years, while weird stuff was happening, Jim was the calm eye at the center of the storm. He was the rational one who could see and understand all the angles. Now he is somehow oblivious to his wife's feelings? If this happened near the start, I could understand. But now it feels a little too forced.
